From 1 November, if you travel to Kazakhstan without a visa, you should apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) through the QazETA portal.

During the transition period between 1 November and 30 June, if you do not have an ETA, you will not be refused entry but will be informed of this requirement when entering Kazakhstan.

From 1 July 2027, the ETA will become mandatory for all visa-free nationals and you will be refused entry if you do not have one.

You should apply at least 72 hours before travel. The ETA is free of charge and is valid for 180 days from the date of issue.

An ETA does not extend the length of your permitted visa-free stay and does not replace any existing visa requirements.

You do not need an ETA if you are:

-

under 16 years old or over 65 years old

-

transiting through Kazakhstan and remaining in the transit area of an international airport without crossing the border

-

travelling on a diplomatic or service passport

-

a holder of a valid Kazakh visa or residence permit

A full list of exemptions can be found in the FAQs section of the QazETA portal.
